LINDA BALLARD
Mother of three and grandmother of seven, Linda Ballard has always been a story teller. However, it wasn’t until her children were grown and out on their own before she turned a natural talent into a career. Hampered by dyslexia, she persevered through disability to realize the innate ability she had been born to achieve. Though beginning a new life at fifty was occasionally daunting, the reward arrived with her first novel in the Forever Series, Dreams of Forever released by Lavender Isis Press in March of 2007.
ELISSA KYLE
Elissa Kyle grew up with a book in one hand and a pen in the other. Throughout her school years, she was an avid reader, loving classics like Little Women and Lord Of The Rings, reading them over and over. She became aware of her writing ability when she was able to crank out a four page story two hours before the paper was due in class. She hasn’t stopped creating stories since. She’s self published several books as well as having several short stories published. She currently splits her time between writing full time and working for several children's charities.

BDSM anthologies
Freya's Bower is open for submission for BDSM anthologies. There are two volumes from two perspectives: A Rose of Any Colour: Femdom and A Rose of Any Colour: Maledom. For more information regarding these anthologies, please contact Miranda Heart, author of Something Unexpected and Insubordinate, through the AWA site.
Each volume will incorporate the work of five authors. We are looking for three established BDSM authors for each volume. Remaining story slots for each book are open to newer writers to submit. Stories must be no less than 10K words and no more than 20K. Any sub-genre of BDSM is welcome with ratings of sweet, tangy, spicy, sizzling and beyond sizzling.
Both volumes are based on a rose theme. Whether the rose (or some form of a rose such as its thorns or petals) is integral to the plot or merely makes an appearance in the story, it is a requirement for all submissions.
Submit entire ms attached as an MS Word document to INSERT EMAIL with the words “BDSM Rose” in the subject line. Established authors must include a short bio.
Deadline is March 31st.
I have recently made contact with Good Vibes and another sex site to see if they will carry D&D. If they do, and we have enough word count for the anthologies, the anthologies could go to print and possibly be sold through their site and a few others.

New WCP book and a chat hosting
by J.G. Craig
Something horrible is about to befall Carl and Donnie Philips, and neither of them can hope to understand it.
Carl is a single parent, trying to raise his blind son, Donnie, as best he can. After Donnie goes through a traumatic operation in an attempt to restore his sight, they return home to find something is seriously wrong with their world. For one thing, there is a hideous monstrosity awaiting Donnie in his bedroom cupboard. For another, there is a red-eyed demon-woman stalking their every move as they flee their invaded home.
Saved on the lonely roads of Aberdeenshire by a mysterious young woman who seems to know her stuff when it comes to the supernatural, they head off into the countryside to spend the night with Donnie’s grandmother. But the evil follows, assaulting them with an increasingly bizarre array of terrible manifestations.
And to add more terror to their plight, the long, cold night never seems to end.

Anniversary Submissions Call
To celebrate our one-year anniversary on March 5, 2007, we're having a call for submissions and offering a nice advance against royalties for the top two manuscripts that fit the following categories.
For general submissions, we're looking for sweet and/or tangy erotic romance manuscripts of category length (30,001-45,000 words) and longer of any genre. See our guidelines for regular submissions and how we rate sweet and tangy: http://www.freyasbower.com/content/view/12/31/.
For our T.R.O.U.B.L.E. line, we're looking for sweet to beyond sizzling ratings for category length and longer only.
Out of the accepted manuscripts, two will be chosen to receive a publishing contract, a print version of the manuscript six months from eBook release date, and a nice advance against first royalties, which will be discussed upon signing the contract. One winning manuscript will be chosen from the sweet and/or tangy submissions and one will be chosen for our T.R.O.U.B.L.E. line. Second place manuscripts for each of these two categories will receive a smaller advance, but the print option will depend solely on eBook sales.
Other outstanding manuscripts will receive a publishing contract with Freya's Bower.
T.R.O.U.B.L.E. Guidelines:
(For male or female protagonists)
She's gorgeous and causes chaos wherever she goes. Perhaps she's a klutz, a walking disaster. Maybe she has the worst luck imaginable.
For males: He's dangerous. The bad boy you can't help but love. Maybe he's a chick magnet, or maybe he's the guy flipping burgers at the local diner. Catastrophe and mayhem seem to follow him around.
Use your imagination for the trouble theme. Any ethnicity, any genre welcome.
Protagonists can also be characters such as Valkyries (for our Valkyrie series), werewolves, vampires, wallflowers, etc.
Category length and longer. (30,001-45,000 words.)
Ratings can be from sweet to beyond sizzling for the TROUBLE line, but we are very open to sweet submissions right now.
First person submissions must be well written.
Please read our guidelines http://www.freyasbower.com/content/view/12/31/ for formatting and any questions you might have before submitting.
ATTN: We have also opened an Angels and Demons category. If the angel or demon fits the TROUBLE theme or the sweet and/or tangy rating, these novels are eligible for the top novel decisions.
Final words: Submissions may be semi-rough drafts, but please don't send something to us that you obviously have not checked over at least once. The key is semi-rough. Send the entire manuscript attached as an MS Word file to submitATfreyasbowerDOTcom with the word TROUBLE or SWEET/TANGY in the subject line.
Deadline for this call is February 20, 2007. If you have questions email Faith at editorfaithATsbcglobalDOTnet or Marci at mbaunATfreyasbowerDOTcom.
Please read our guidelines for formatting and any questions you might have before submitting.
Send submissions to submitATfreyasbowerDOTcom with the word TROUBLE in the subject line.

Mountain greetings!
I've recently launched my official author newsletter. It has nice graphics, excerpts, how-to writing articles, chicken stories, freebies for subscribers and much, much more. It's a montly publication to keep in touch with all my readers and friends since my time is so stretched lately and I'm unable to keep up with my blogs, forums and groups as much as I used to.
I hope to see you there.
